Executive Coaching
Very few people in any field attain high levels of proficiency or mastery without sustained practice – and without coaching. This also applies to the “practice of leadership.”
At Paths to Change, we view leadership as an ongoing developmental path or journey. Coaching is a series of conversations that provide the leader with greater insight into her/his leadership role and individual character, and ultimately result in enhanced performance. Certain kinds of developmental coaching also focus on deep transformations that produce profound paradigm shifts – new ways of perceiving and being that significantly alter a leader’s work and/or life trajectory.
We offer a range of customized options, from individual leadership coaching to team coaching of senior leadership teams. Additionally, we can increase your organization’s coaching capacity by developing a cadre of skilled coaches within your system, establishing enterprise-wide coaching networks, and leading coaching workshops and clinics.
Event Facilitation
Do you have an upcoming high-stakes meeting, where masterful facilitation will be critical to success? Perhaps you’re planning a major retreat bringing together several key individuals to address pressing issues. As a leader, are you sometimes too invested in the content or outcomes of key meetings – in ways that interfere with your ability to manage the meeting process, or that stifle employees from sharing their candid ideas and opinions? Are hidden agendas, or perhaps overt conflict, about to ruin another meeting?
For certain types of events and meetings, you absolutely need the benefit of a highly skilled, third party, neutral facilitator. In particular, in situations involving major off-sites, complex problem-solving, high degrees of conflict, leaders being too invested in meeting content to manage the meeting process in ways that create a safe and productive environment… In these and other situations, it’s best to use a facilitator.
We work with you in the early planning stages to set your meeting or event up for success. We’ll then facilitate your event, meeting or series of meetings to get you the results you want, using effective and innovative facilitation processes, in ways that create a safe and open environment for all to participate fully.
By the way, we’re also available to support you in those last-minute, crisis and similar situations where you have a meeting or event – but don’t have much time for preparation and planning.
Visual/graphic recording
The shared understanding of information is critical for groups to navigate through any process.
Paths to Change visual/graphic recorders listen to group interchanges for meaning as well as words, capturing patterns of thought, connections and themes. We then summarize all of this into key words and images, thus facilitating deeper understanding and learning.
Additionally, for certain types of meetings, events and organizational processes where innovation, out-of-the-box thinking, and paradigm shifting are pivotal, mere talk does not suffice. Instead, visual/graphic recording is an essential tool in tapping into “right brain thinking.”
Writing and Keynote speaking
Several Paths to Change associates are accomplished writers, with numerous published articles and books – as well as online articles, zines and blogs. Similarly, we are often called on to deliver keynote addresses at, or to serve as emcees for, major conferences, symposia and similar events.
